This tool combines curated name fragments — prefixes, roots, and suffixes chosen for the feel of each style — with light randomness so every click yields fresh ideas. Fantasy names blend syllables typical of that race's conventions in fiction (Tolkien-esque for elves and dwarves, D&D 5e draconic for dragonborn, etc.); modern categories use realistic first-name pools and common brand-building patterns.

Dragonborn, elf, dwarf, orc, hobbit
For tabletop RPG players and fiction writers. Each style has its own pool of syllables so you get names that feel appropriate to the race: crisp, dental elven names; consonant-heavy dwarven names; long draconic compounds for dragonborn. Roll a few dozen and pick one that fits your character's story.
Username
Short, memorable handle ideas for social media and gaming. Combines an adjective with a noun or archetype, plus an optional number suffix. Most are under 16 characters, which is the limit on Twitter/X and works for most gaming platforms.
Business / Startup
Brandable two-word combos and made-up words in the style of modern startups. Useful as a starting point — always verify domain availability and trademark status before committing.
US phone number
Generates numbers using the official 555-01xx block reserved by NANP for fictional use. These are never assigned to real people, which makes them safe for mock-ups, demos, and QA data.
FAQ
Are the generated names real?
Fantasy and business names are invented on the fly — they may or may not overlap with real names. Baby names are drawn from common real-world lists. Always check if you plan to use a business name commercially.
Can I use these names in my game/novel/brand?
Yes, the names themselves aren't copyrightable in most jurisdictions. But trademarks, characters from existing franchises, and real people's names can be. When in doubt, search before you commit.
Will the same seed give the same names?
No — each click is independent random. Refresh to regenerate.
Why only US phone numbers?
To guarantee numbers aren't assigned to real people, we use the NANP fictional range (555-0100 to 555-0199). Other countries have different conventions; more formats coming soon.
